Built in 1903 by prominent banker Preston Boyd Moss, the mansion was a hub of social life for the wealthy family. However, even in its early days, rumors of strange happenings circulated. Over the years, visitors and staff have reported unsettling encounters within its lavish rooms.
 
One of the most common stories centers around the spirit of Preston's wife, Martha Moss. It’s said that she adored the home and has never truly left. Guests claim to feel cold spots near the grand staircase where she used to greet visitors. Some have even reported seeing a woman dressed in period clothing, believed to be Martha herself, drifting through the halls or watching silently from the windows.
 
But Martha isn't the only ghost rumored to reside in the mansion. A little girl’s laughter is sometimes heard in the upstairs rooms, though no children are present.
